White Plains:
On 18 March 2006 she was invited by a peace and justice group called Wespac foundation to give a talk at a rally and demonstration in White Plaines near New York which was attended by around 400 anti war protestors.
The main local paper has reported the event and spoken about the speech which was given by Houzan Mahmoud against the occupation. Also two TV channels have interviewed Houzan.
Hartford:
On 19 March 2006 Houzan was invited by CT Opposes the War to address a gathering of about 1500 anti war protestors who gathered to oppose the occupation of Iraq. Houzan was interviewed by the National Radio about the situation in Iraq and the women’s struggle.
New York:
On 20 March 2006 Houzan gave a speech at a conference which was organised by the sociology department about Women and Iraq War which was attended by more than 150 student and university lecturers. In this conference other speakers were on the panel such as the army general Janis Karpinski she was in charge of Abo Ghrib prison whiles the torture and abuse of Iraqi prisoners took place. As well as Asil Swahile professor at PaceUniversity in New York. In this seminar there was a heated debate against Janis and the audience held General Karpiski responsible for what had happened in Abo ghrib.
Houzan in her speech spoke about the political situation in Iraq, lack of security and abuse of women’s rights under occupation as well as stressing upon the point that all army generals and Bush administration as a whole should be put on trial and that Iraq war and crimes against its people should not be only blamed on one person but on the whole US government and its institutions.
This event was reported in the official publication of New York Teacher website.
Also Houzan was interviewed by Bill Henning vice president of Communication Workers Union for his radio show called (Communiqué) on WNYE radio on the women and workers struggle in Iraq mainly federation of workers councils and unions in Iraq.
On 21 March a seminar was held by The National Organization for the Iraqi Freedom Struggles and New Space to speak about the struggles of people of Iraq against occupation and the role of Iraq Freedom Congress. In the evening of the same night Houzan was interviewed by Bill Weinberg of WBAI radio programme about Iraq freedom congress, Organisation of Women’s Freedom in Iraq and other progressive initiatives in Iraq and their struggle to end occupation.

Political Islam and Women's Oppression in the Middle East”
Houzan was interviewed by Matthew
Rothschild for Progressive radio show.
Also Steve Paulson of the National radio WPR in Madison interviewed Houzan in detail about the situation in Iraq and the alternative for the situation.
Canada-Toronto:
The preparatory committee for the establishment of IFC branch in North America organised a seminar on the political situation in Iraq and the way out.
In this seminar the official North America Branch of Iraq Freedom Congress was launched by the preparatory committee in Toronto.
